Vampire Slumber Party's Little Light - A Short Review and Video
Here at BRD we haven’t had the chance to do a music review for a little while, but we have stumbled upon that chance now! We heard from Vampire Slumber Party’s frontman Yusuf Laher about their latest single Little Light and decided to give it a listen and appraisal.
Vampire Slumber Party describe themselves as “Pop Punk With Fangs” and this is a very apt description. Not afraid to tell it like it is, their latest single Little Light tackles the racism Yusuf has encountered over the years.
Hearing Little Light for the first time I was struck by the band’s caliber of sound. It’s in your face with a catchy melody and timely beat. The chorus goes Hold my breath and count to ten and walk away which is a great mantra for dealing with rude, unsolicited comments from crass idiots and racists alike. But don’t just take my word for it, check out the video below:
Vampire Slumber Party hail from London in the UK, and have several other previous releases including the album Funeral Pop, which is also worth checking out. You can find them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and they have a great YouTube channel: Vampire Slumber Party TV
Well, there you have it! Check them out by pre-saving here for Spotify and Apple Music or on bandcamp.com when Little Light becomes available for download this Monday, otherwise known as Halloween 2022. That’s all for now, stay rad, and stay brutal!
