Hello and welcome back to P-Vock's Music Box, the weekly blog in which I get you set for the weekend with some rad tunes. This week, I am feeling the need for speed. So, start your engines. This week's selection comes from the one series I know everyone has tried at some point.
Do I even need to introduce Mario Kart? It's freaking Mario Kart! You hit the gas, grab a shell, and race for first. It's one of the most timeless experiences and no matter which entry you pick, you're bound to have a damn good time in the sheer chaos. It's also the holiday season, so what do you we get a little chilly with some fast-paced racing tunes from some iconic winter-themed Mario Kart tracks? Have a listen:
Oh yeah, that's the stuff. Makes me want to just blaze a trail and race for first. The constant energy and drive of this music, coupled with a pretty fast tempo make me feel like I'm speeding through a frozen wonderland at top speed and I've got this, this race is mine... At least until that stupid little prick rears their ugly head and I get hit by a damn blue shell I HATE YOU TOAD!
It's okay, I'm good. I swear. Even if that spore-ific shithead stole this race from me... So how about a wonderful cover of this absolute gem that just puts me right in the wintery mood? Have a listen.
Oh yeah, that's the good stuff! The artist who created this remix, Qumu, is so skilled at the craft and I get excited for each remix they put out, especially if we're getting treated to some gems from Mario Kart. Hot damn I love racing games. I just can't be angry when I'm playing a racing game (even if Toad deserves the chair). I love it so much that I just have to give you one more tune. Please indulge:
Oh, that is some absolutely sexy racing music. Not only is Mount Wario from Mario Kart 8 my favourite Mario Kart track ever as it has you traveling down a mountain at top speed, slipping on ice, and dashing through trees. Not only does it have music that can legally only be described as a certified banger. Not only is it just so pretty to look at.
Mount Wario is all that, but it also wins another award. It wins the very important award of "Track title that is also a thing most people genuinely want to do even if they won't admit it."
All I'm sayin' is that that the dude's packin'. Look at that CAKE!
Alright, it's about time I wrap this post up. Thank you for joining me back here and I hope your weekend is filled with triumphs and not emotional blue shells. I'll see you right back here next week with another suggestion from my Music Box. Stay Brutal!
