P-Vock's Music Box: Know Their Names
Hello and welcome to P-Vock's Music Box. It is here. After five years, it is here. We finally have a new installment in the Xeno series as Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is on store shelves as I speak! I am so happy. I am so ready. I am so damn FIRED UP!
The worlds of 1 and 2 have collided and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 promises to be something truly special.
So, how's about I take you on a journey to fire you up as well?
No matter how many times I hear that I never get used to it. You Will Know Our Names is a track that has become absolutely legendary. Everyone seems to know of it, and for good reason. A track that plays whenever you fight a certain group of strong enemies needs some oomph, and this one has enough to ensure I can't fight alongside this music and remain seated because I just get so pumped.
That is a strong entry from Xenoblade Chronicles 1. Does the second entry have something to match?
Serve returned. Hot damn, this tune definitely brought the heat. While the chorus doesn't excite me as much as the previous track, the overall composition is just so damn powerful that it more than makes up for it. Once again the Xenoblade series delivers a boss theme that makes me so fired up I could just punch that annoying person in my apartment parking lot who just HAS to park way too close to my parking spot.
*UPDATE* P-Vock has been arrested for assault.
It's okay, when I said I got fired up from Xeno music, they let me go and even gave me a ride home.
Alright, so 1 and 2 have bangers. But does 3 have anything to compete?
How in the hell can a piece of music with this much flute sound even remotely intense?
I don't get it, but I'm not complaining. Another unique monster theme that absolutely brings the tension. Somehow, this track manages to elevate the chorus multiple times over while still maintaining its wonderful composition and never sounding muddled or too busy. In fact, even though there may be some recency bias, this may just be my favourite of the three themes here.
Alright, I'm done. I want to play more Xenoblade Chronicles 3, so I'm going to go do that. I have wanted this game for so long and I'm so happy that it is now in my grasp. I hope your weekend is anywhere near as incredible as any of these genuine bangers and I'll catch you back here next time with another suggestion from my Music Box. Stay Brutal!
PS. All three of these games are available on the Nintendo Switch and you'd be doing yourself a service if you gave any of them a chance. They slap harder than the force of my girl Sena's hammer.
