P-Vock's Music Box: C O N S U M E

Hello and welcome back to P-Vock's Music Box. I am feeling HUNGRY right now. A new Kirby game is set to launch right away and I am extremely excited about it. I've loved everything about this series for as long as I can remember. I love the relaxing nature of the gameplay. I love the whimsical cast of characters. I love the final bosses that are just universe-consuming gods with tragic backstories (I'm not kidding). But most of all, I love the music. So, to celebrate the new entry in this wonderful series, allow me to give you some great tunes to feast on.

There are honestly a lot of great tunes from this series to choose from. Some incredibly relaxing beats. Some somber melodies. There is even some absolutely blood-pumping hype music. So, let's start off slow with a tune that I can never hear and not just vibe with.

There are few tunes that hit me right in the childhood harder than Quiet Forest from Kirby 64. This tune was one of the first video game tracks that ever made me really stop, listen, and just appreciate. I think this track is quite emblematic of what most people assume the Kirby franchise is all about. A calm melody, with some whimsical notes, and an adventurous tone. So now, let's say screw that and get you hyped.

Kirby is a very family-friendly series that has no dark or complicated lore whatsoever. This definitely isn't a theme that plays while Kirby hijacks a damn spacecraft to essentially suicide bomb a giant wish-granting robot as a last resort after it became self-aware and sought to eliminate all organic life-forms in the universe after being influenced by a corporation's CEO who went senile after his daughter went missing and was presumed deceased...

Yeah, somehow Kirby has as much dramatic science fiction content as the Xeno or Final Fantasy series. Oh right, the music! Do I even need to say much about how hype this is? The sheer ridiculousness the finale of basically Kirby game has is one of the reasons I love the series so much. For a series that's so charming and jovial, I love when the team behind it decides to really turn it up and give us something outrageous.

Alright, I think that'll just about do it for me. I hope your weekend is as all-around incredible as the music from the Kirby series. Thank you as always for tuning in and I'll catch you back here next week with another suggestion from my Music Box. Stay Brutal!

PS. Yeah, I have to give you more hype tunes because listening to a bunch of it while trying to decide what to write about made me remember tons of certified bangers. Have what many consider the peak of Kirby music.
