Hello again. In case you didn’t read my other blog, I am who people call Merlin. I am a cat. I really don’t pretend to know everything, but people are stupid. Racism is stupid. My species is very diverse, the cat family being quite large. We come in all shapes, sizes and colours, but, we are still all cats. Maybe I meet other cats who I don’t like, or who become my enemies. But I don’t hate them because of their colour or breed. That’s silly. We are still the cat family. Maybe I hate them because they dared to infringe on my territory, which makes them an enemy. But don’t worry, cats are solitary creatures so we don’t believe in war. You will never see swarms of cats tearing each other to pieces. And we don’t care in the slightest if the cat down the street is grey, or orange. That is a problem that seems to be specific to humans. I propose a solution, how about everyone behaves like cats, and leaves each other the hell alone for each other’s differences. Also maybe we should separate the humans who hate other humans for racist reasons and give them some literature on why it’s stupid to be racist along with some medical and biology texts that prove that humans are all the same. It’s obvious to me, but there are a lot of people who still have some learning to do.
Despite my sophistication and intelligence, I am not perfect either though. I admit it. Being a cat, I have failed miserably at figuring out people. Humans baffle me. I am trying to understand people, and the human world is a constant source of amazement for me. There are good things in the human world. Like friendship, love and kindness, as well as some really great cat treats and toys. Although I am happy to just play with that crinkly and plastic-y wrapper that Alison insists is garbage. Anyway, my point is, let’s all just get along no matter what our appearances are. Whether we have the same colours, or age, or gender. Racism is stupid. Humans are all the same to me, I don’t care who you are, just be nice, and maybe scratch behind my ears.
