Alien in Exile #17

The perspective that you will hear from today is from someone who is not from earth but also not from anywhere else. We are the underground, we are an outsider, we are outcast, we are, the alien in exile.

Hello humans. Last week we shared with you our perspective on one of the finer things of earth. But this week we are having some difficulty maintaining our positivity and we will take the opportunity this week perhaps, to share with you our perspective on a subject that has been bothering us for quite some time.

The perspective for today is: Media. The definition of media is diverse so we will focus on one aspect, the daily reported news. As an alien, we try our best to avoid the garbage portrayed on the annoying, blaring, antiquated medium known as television. But it does not escape us, as it seems there is one in every domain. Also we are very observant so we have difficulty ignoring the machine completely as most people seem to do.

Our problem is that this media machine seems to be mostly negative and the news portrayed is sensationally bad. It only takes a positive turn when it is utilized for advertising and other such propaganda that is otherwise paid for. We can infer that if we watched the daily tripe on the nightly news on a regular or nightly basis we would be far more bitter and jaded than we already are! Even in small doses the news machine is detrimental to our mental health.

If we were not currently inhabiting this planet and were blissfully free on another one and observed the news of Earth from an unbiased alien perspective, we may believe humans to be unworthy of our visit. But since we do currently inhabit this planet we do know that this is not the case. As humans you can only hope that other aliens have not been exposed to the travesty known as televised news.

We do have a solution for you today, however. All it requires is that your media becomes free. You were off to a great start with the internet until advertising became involved. The internet was once a place of free knowledge. We are doing our part by writing this weekly blog for your information and as a resource of the extensive observations and analysis done by us, our perspective of life on this planet.

But who is going to pay for all of this, you may be asking. Well, obviously your media machine has made quite a profit, can it not be put back into itself rather than lining a few pockets? The finest part of the system is when it has only made a few ridiculously rich. Those few do have a right to their earned money but they can also have a responsibility as they have acquired power from this system.

If you do not think that this solution is feasible, we have a much better solution that we have already shared with you in blog #3. We are the Alien in Exile and we want fairness.

Conclusion: Media = (problem) + (solution) - (profit)
